Google just announced its Pixel hardware event for October 6th, where it will reveal more details about the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel Watch, after being teased at I/O 2022 in May. Google also announced that it will introduce new devices to the Nest smart home portfolio.

The teaser shows these new devices. These will run the next-generation Tensor SoC and run Android 13 out-of-the-box. The phone still includes a camera bar, but it is smaller than the Pixel 6 series. The Pixel 7 will feature an aluminum frame with a matte finish, while the Pixel 7 Pro will feature a polished aluminum frame.

Going by previous reports, the display specs of the Pixel 7 series are essentially identical to their predecessors. The Pixel 7 is rumored to have a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 90Hz, while the Pixel 7 Pro’s screen resolution will be 3120 x 1440 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz.

There are dual rear cameras for the Pixel 7 and there are triple rear cameras for the Pixel 7 Pro, including a periscope telephoto camera. Both the smartphones will also be capable of 4K video recording, as revealed via a deconstruction of the most recent version of the Google Camera app.

The Google Pixel Watch is Google’s first smartwatch and will integrate Fitbit’s health and fitness features. Google said it will feature a new, revamped WearOS experience, and is designed to work with all Pixel and Android phones, as well as the Pixel Buds Pro and Pixel Buds A-series wireless earbuds. Pixel Watch will also come in LTE model.

Based on earlier rumours, the Pixel Watch will be powered by a Samsung Exynos 9110 processor with a co-processor, pack 32GB of storage, and include sensor heart rate, SpO2 and ECG monitoring. It is said that it lasts for a day on a full charge.

The Google-produced launch event will take place on October 6, 2022 at 10 AM EST (7:30 PM IST) in the Williamsburg neighborhood of NYC.

Google has confirmed that the devices will go on sale on the same day at and the physical Google Store in New York City, where it will also be on display.
