Realme today confirmed the launch of the company’s latest mid-range smartphone, the realme 9i 5G, in India on August 18. This comes after the launch of the 4G version of the Realme 9i earlier this year.
The company said that after the mirror design in the Realme 7 series, dynamic light design in the Realme 8 series and the ripple holographic design in the Realme 9 series, the Realme 9i will use the 5G laser light design. It has confirmed the MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC for the phone, which it already used in the Realme 9 5G.
The teaser image shows triple rear cameras and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. We can expect a FHD+ LCD screen and 5000mAh battery for the phone.
Regarding the future of 5G phones, Realme VP Madhav Sheth in a letter to his fans said:
We already have a base of 5 million realme family powered by 5G devices. We are excited about the 5th generation cellular network rolling out across India!
At Realme, we have shifted more than half of our portfolio to 5G and are currently working on ramping up production of 5G phones in the Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 segment.
